Misty Way

Glaschoille Loch
19/04/2020
Knoydart is deserted. No visitors, no vehicles, no planes and subsequently no jet trails, so the clearest skies ever. A moonless night, no wind and the Milky Way high in the sky - the perfect opportunity to try photographing Glaschollle Loch which is just a few minutes from Doune.
A bonus I had'nt expected was that as the temperature dropped mist formed over the loch and then drfited across the water. Just shooting the stars didn't show it, but using a torch to carefully light paint the mist produced some real suprise images. I just love it when something comes up that you weren't expecting.
For those interested in settings - 16mm @ f2.8, 15sec, ISO 6200.
